Game Two:
Pounders vs
Pollis
Pounders 23 - Pollis 20
In another classic match-up between long time rivals, the Pounders came from behind to defeat Polli's, 23 - 20. Both teams entered the contest with perfect 6 - 0 records. With the victory, the Pounders claimed sole possession of first place.
Polli's led throughout the game but the Pounders took control in the bottom of the sixth inning by batting around and scoring eleven runs to take a nine run lead into the top of the last inning. The grizzled veterans from Polli's mounted a two out rally and had the tying run at the plate before succumbing.
Leading the way for the Pounders were Sean, 4 - 5, HR, 3 runs, 2 RBI; Klash, 3 - 4, HR, 2 runs, 2 RBI; Rob, 4 - 5, HR, 3 runs, 5 RBI and the league's leading hitter Trox, 3 -5, HR, 2 runs, 4 RBI. Game Three:
Long Shots vs
Wild Wheels Wentals
Shots 15 - Wheels 5
The day started a little early for some of the Long Shots players. With
the trade winds bringing in morning showers and the threat of rained out
games, John Woody, his brother Sam and Kyle Borchert were at the park before
8 a.m. to install the 2 sets of wooden benches that they donated to the ball
park. With the Karma that came along with the gift of these benches to the
League, the Wheels never had a chance.
Although Wheels countered with a new Tie Die Jersey made by Dave Murphy it
was not enough to stop the Shots. Kyle got things started for the Long Shots
with a hard hit single and the rest of the team followed suit. It was 5 to 0
after the first and the Wheels were never able to catch up. Defense was also
good for the Shots as they held the Wheels to only 5 runs scored and they
were all scored in their one big inning. In the end it was a 10 run game
(15-5) after 5 innings when the Wheels were unable to score once again. At
least the Wheels looked good in their new Jersey's.
There were a lot of big hitters for the Long Shots but it would be John Woody
(Woody), who would have the best day at the plate going 3 for 3
with 2 RBI's and 2 runs scored while Kyle Borchest was 3 for 4 with 2 runs
scored. ( Goes to show what selfless generosity and hard work for the League
can bring you ). I hope the other teams don't catch on. Other big hitters for
the shots were Johnny A. going 3 for 3 and 2 RBI's, Ray (Gunny) 2 for 3 with
a base on balls and a run scored, while Dale Cammarata went 2 for 3 with 2
RBI's and 1 run scored.
For the Wheels their best batters were, Roger Clay 2 for 2 and 1 RBI, Ray
Rutowski 2 for 3 with 1 run scored, Eli Wenderoth 2 for 3 with 1 run scored
and his dad Rico Wenderoth was 1 for 2 with 1 BB and 2 RBI's.

Good Strokes vs
King of the Road
Strokes 17 - Kings 5
A big win for the Strokes.
With the whole team coming through in the clutch, they managed to score 17 runs to the Kings 5.
Boise, Ruben, & Tim all had good days at the plate, combining for 14 rbi's.
The only highlite for the Kings frustrating day was James, who hit a homerun, a double and had 1 rbi.
