    ~ Last Saturday's games ~

Game one: King of the Roads vs Pollis
    Kings 28 - Pollis 16

The King of the Road squad survived an early Poli's uprising to go on to a 28-16 10 run victory. Polli's started strong and were ahead 14 to 0 after two innings. Theie offense was powered by Drain who went 2 for 3 with a dinger and 4 rbi's. Russ went 2 for 4 with 4 rbi's and a mammoth shot to left center. Polli's offense dried up after that as they were only able to score two more runs for the remainder of the game.

The mighty Kings answered Polli's explosion with one of their own in the third inning when they scored 14 runs. Matty led the way batting 4 for 5 and 7 rbi's. Other leading hitters for the King of TheRoad were Lance who manged 2 bleeders that accounted for 4 rbi's. Ray contributed by going 4 for 4 with 3 rbi's and Paul was 3 for 4 with 4 rbi's. The Kings were able to score 12 more runs and play steady defense for the rest of the game.

The King of the Road team will face their arch rivals, the Pounders in next weeks action.

Game Three: Pounders vs Long Shots
    Pounders 16 - Shots 6

The Pounders improved to 11 - 0 on the season with a 16 - 6 victory over the Long Shots Saturday morning. Sean Steadman and Casey Lara both homered to lead the way for the Pounders.

The Long Shots committed a number of errors to allow the Pounders to jump out to an early lead but the Shots battled back to make it close. The Pounders held a slim 7 - 6 lead heading into the bottom of the fifth inning After last week's exciting win over Fred's, the Pounders appeared to be sleep walking against the Long Shots. But they woke up in a big way as they put up a nine spot in the home half of the fifth inning to ten-run the Shots.

We received a scare in the fourth inning when Long Shots' player and Haliimaile veteran Viking Keith experienced shortness of breath after running the bases. An ambulance was summoned and Keith spent the night in the hospital for observation and testing. Our thoughts go out to Keith and we wish him a speedy recovery.

Top hitters for the Pounders were Sean, 2 - 3, HR, 2 runs, 5 rbi; Casey, 3 - 3, HR, 3 runs, 1 rbi; and Fred, 2 - 3, 1 run, 2 rbi. The Long Shots were led by father and son Dale and Ryan who combined to go 3 -3, with 3 runs and 3 rbi. Kyle, 2-3, 2 rbi and Johnny A., 2 -3, 1 rbi also had good games at the plate.

The Pounders look to stay undefeated next week when they face King of the Road while the Long Shots are hoping to short circuit Fred's Electric.
