Game one: Long Shots vs Good Strokes
    Strokes 15 - Shots 12

The Long Shots came up short against a Strokes team that was shorthanded. The Strokes had to pick up 2 players but were soon replaced by rookie Dave Mayer and Veteran Bret Green, who arrived in time to ignite Strokes infurno of hits in the top of the 4th.

Although the Long Shots made it interesting, scoring 8 to tie the game in the 6th, it was the tenacious defense that, well to make a Long Shot story short, helped the Strokes win a game they were supposed to win.

Key defense: Tim's unassisted double play, Brett's inning ending catch.
    Key offense: Rubin's grand slam.

Other top hitters for Strokes: Harold Fernandez who went 3 for 4 with 1 triple, 2 rbi's and 3 runs scored and Chad who went 3 for 5 with 3 run's scored.
Long Shots top hitter was Dale Cammarata who went 3 for 4 with 1 homerun, 6 rbi's and 2 run's scored.

    Game Three: Pounders vs Freds
    Pounders 23 - Freds 22

Another week and another thrilling victory for the undefeated Pounders. This time, a come from behind win over Fred's, 23 - 22. The Pounders withstood the onslaught of Fred's left fielder Big Dog Jeff Cochraine, who blasted three home runs to almost single-handedly lead Fred's to victory.

This game was a seesaw affair in the early stages as both teams came out hitting to mount numerous run-scoring rallies. Gusty trade winds made pitching difficult and Freddie's took full advantage by showing patience at the plate to coax a number of base on balls off of Pounder pitching. The walks, as well as some clutch hitting, allowed Freddie's to take a four run lead into the last inning.

The top of the seventh inning saw the Pounders inch into the lead as they batted around to score five runs to silence the anti-Pounder crowd. The Heckler's Hill residents, hoping to see the Pounders lose their first game of the season and slide into a first place tie with Polli's, could only hope that Freddie's would rally in their last at bat.

But it was not to be. Freddie's managed to put the tying run on base with two out, but Pounder left fielder, Larry Regudo, made a sliding catch off of his chest in shallow left field to secure the victory. With the win, the Pounders improved to 10 - 0 while Freddie's fell to 6 - 4.

    Top batters for the Pounders were Sean, 3 - 4, 2 HR, 3 runs, 4 RBI; Shad, HR, 3 runs, 4 RBI; Fred (Pete), 2 - 4, 1 run, 5 RBI and Aaron, 2 - 4, 4 runs, 3 RBI. Freddie's was led by Jeff, 4 - 5, 3 HR, 4 runs, 7 RBI; Greg, 2 -3, HR, 2 runs, 1 RBI; Dale, 3 -5, 2 runs, 1 RBI and Steve, 3 -5, 2 runs, 1 RBI.

In next week's action, the Pounders face the Long Shots while Fred's looks to rebound against the Wheels.
