Game one:
Wild Wheels vs
Pounders
Pounders 13 - Wheels 7
The first game of the new season saw the defending champs Pounders overtake the Wheels, 13 - 7. The Wheels started out strong by scoring six runs in the top of the first inning. But the Pounders slammed the door behind strong pitching & defense and took the lead in the fourth inning as they batted around and took advantage of the Wheels' mental miscues.
The Pounders were led by Trox(no pic), 3-3, 3 rbi's, Matt, 2-2, 2 rbi's, Aaron, 2-2, 1 rbi and Larry, 2-3, 3 runs. The Wheels top hitters were the father-son combo Walter and Krayton who both went 2-3 and combined for 2 rbi's and 1 run scored. T.J.(no pic) and Roger both went 2-4.
This game marked the return to action of long time Pounder star pitcher Steve L. It was a memorable day for Steve as he stuck out swinging (yes he bought a case after the game) and nearly beheaded first baseman Steve P. while catching an infield fly which clearly was not his ball. I got it! I got it! Watch Out!!!!

Houston we have a problem...something's up in 2002.
The winds were blowing Kona and game 3 started on time!
An error filled ballgame describes the first meeting of 2002 between Strokes and Fred's. The Strokes were led offensively by Rubin Mendoza who went 2 for 4 with 3 RBIs. Fred's Electric was led by Fall 2001 all-star Kurt Nelson who was 2 for 4 with an inside the park homerun and 4 RBI.
Another great opening day... thanks Mo!

King if the Road vs
No Hair B.A.
Kings 20 - No Hair B.A. 2
King of the Road welcomed the upstart No Hair B.A team to Haliimaile with a
20 to 2 thrashing.
Leading the way for the King of the Road was Benito
(Bagger Vance) Alconcel. Bee was 4 for 4 with 2 triples, 2 singles, 5 RBI,

The King of the Road squad showed all who were in attendance
that they will be a team to be reckoned with this season at Haliimaile.
Bee's offensive display earned him the Hot Dog of the Week honors.
